Midtown Reader Blog

Laissez les bons livres rouler...

The Midtown Reader team is just back from the 2017 SIBA fall conference, where Southern indie booksellers gather each fall to meet with authors and exchange ideas on a wide variety of bookselling topics. This year Jill Hart and I traveled to New Orleans for three days, and in addition to discovering some great new reads, we toured some terrific indie stores in the Big Easy, including Garden District Books(@gardendistrictbooks) and Octavia(@octaviabooks). We loved running into our neighbor Annie Jones of the Bookshelf in Thomasville(@bookshelftville), too. How is it that we have all been so busy we had to travel all the way to New Orleans to see her?! Welcome to Midtown Reader’s new blog!

We’re excited to share our favorite reads, info on authors, and an occasional article we think you might enjoy. Midtown Reader is proud to be your neighborhood bookstore for new books in every subject, and to provide content and programming that we hope reflects all the wonderful readers we’ve come to know and love in our hometown of Tallahassee. From author events, to book clubs to Kidtown Reader story hour on Saturdays, we’ve got your reading needs covered! And speaking of author events, I have to start our inaugural blog with a shout-out to the fabulous J.C. Sasser, author of the indie favorite Gradle Bird, who was just in store this past Friday evening. Wow! What a fun conversation
